There are two options:
1. MAKE A REQUEST TO THE NEW PROVIDER (THE RECEIVING OPERATOR).
Based on the customer's authorization, the receiving operator can terminate the existing valid contract with the former communication service provider (donor operator). The receiving operator registers the customer's request and enters the Numbering Location (NL) module of the Number Reservation Database (NBA), which forwards the request to the former provider. After forwarding the corresponding appeal to the donor operator, the donor operator shall initiate the number portability verification and reply to the receiving operator.
Based on an agreement between the operators, a conditional connection contract will be concluded immediately based on the customer's request, and a new SIM card will be issued. Provided that number portability takes effect, the conditional contract becomes a standard subscription contract.
2. CONTACT THE FORMER PROVIDER TO TERMINATE THE CONTRACT.
After the request has been made, the customer will sign a conditional termination agreement for the existing connection contract for 30 days. During that time, they will have to contact a new communications service provider. Suppose the customer does not start the number portability process with the receiving operator within 30 days. In that case, the old subscription contract conditions will be reinstated, and the customer will continue to be a customer of the former telecoms provider. The rest of the process will continue in the same way as if the customer had contacted the receiving operator.
The customer will be able to suspend the number portability from the moment the portability request is submitted until the moment the former operator has not confirmed the date of number portability set by the new operator.
The whole process, from submitting an application to switching provider, is free of charge for the customer and may take some time:
3-25 working days for mobile numbers (6 working days on average);
3-39 working days for landline numbers (includes time to identify or set up technical facilities).
Recommendations when changing your communications provider:
Check out all the services on offer and their prices before making a final decision.
Pay attention to the terms and conditions of the contract and possible penalties before signing.
